Christmas Carols in Westbourne Arcade, Christmas 2007

Saturday 22nd December 2007 - Carols in Westbourne Arcade

Cantamus Choir sang a wide variety of carols in Westbourne Arcade from 2pm -4pm on the last Saturday before Christmas. It was lovely to see the pleasure that this gave to Christmas shoppers of all ages. We received many compliments, the most pleasing of which was that, 'this was the real Christmas; this is what Christmas is all about.''

People listened to a range of Christmas carols while they: completed their Christmas shopping in Westbourne; admired the seasonal displays in the Westbourne Arcade shops and while they rested over a meal or drinks in the Arcade Cafe.

Thanks to the generousity of our audience, we will be making a donation to Michaels (as we usually do at this time of year) to help them with their valuable work, helping people to leave 'life on the streets' behind them and take their place within society.
It is an important part of our ethos that we help local charities at Christmas -in past years we have raised money for a children's ward at Poole Hospital, have given to night shelters and to a home for single young women with children.
