On Sunday 23rd December, Cantamus Chamber Choir joined together with the choir of St Luke's Church, Winton, Bournemouth for a traditional Festival of Lessons and Carols.
Many people came to hear their favourite carols and listen to the choirs singing special arrangements of others.
The atmosphere of a candlelit service in a welcoming, friendly church was a fitting start to the Christmas season. Choirs and congregation enjoyed mince pies, crisps, sherry and non alcoholic punch together.
The choirs were especially pleased to welcome a former member who now lives in Spain, and (members when they are in Bournemouth) three undergraduates to share Christmas celebrations with us.
We were also delighted to be approached, after the service, by a young gentleman who had enjoyed listening so much, that he will be auditioning to join us in the new year.
The Choirs were conducted by their Musical Director, Malcolm Wood and were accompanied by Organist David Beeby.
